Willie Vester, 98, of Perry, Oklahoma was the son of William and Ruth Turner Vester. He was born the oldest of seven children on July 13, 1912 in Houston, Texas, and died Monday, April 18, 2011 at Perry Memorial Hospital. Willie married Edith Lane in Perry, Oklahoma and she preceded him in death. He later married Maggie Williams and she also preceded him in death. He was a member of the Church of God in Christ. Willie was a hard worker who worked for several local businessmen and people. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family at his home. He will be remembered as a loving son, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 23, 2011 at the First Christian Church. Rev. Magnum Scott will officiate. Interment will be in Grace Hill Cemetery. Services are under the direction of BrownDugger Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of BrownDugger Funeral Home, 1010 N. Seventh Street, Perry, Oklahoma 73077. He is survived by his one daughter, Opal Swan and her husband Wayne of Perry, Oklahoma eight grandchildren, Jacquelyn Moses of Cedar Hills, Texas, Wayne Swan Jr. and his fianceacute Marva of Wichita, Kansas, Gary Swan and his wife Yvonne of Owasso, Oklahoma, Delbert Swan and his wife Joy of Killeen, Texas, Harvey Swan, Virgil Swan and his wife Kim all of Perry, Oklahoma Allison Swan of Wichita, Kansas, James Detroit of Warren, Michigan and eighteen greatgrandchildren. Willie is preceded in death by his parents six brothers, Glenn Moore, L.T. Vester, Bennie Vester, Sr., Eddie Vester, Elve Vester and Henry Vester two sisters, Marie Doxey and Laura Knight and one granddaughter, Marilyn Bourland.
