Wes Robbins

Wes Robbins, 77, of Perry, Oklahoma was the son of Daniel Merrill and Emma Lou Ward Robbins. He was born September 2, 1927 at Orlando, Oklahoma and died Thursday, June 9, 2005 at Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He graduated from Orlando High School at Orlando, Oklahoma. On June 16, 1949, he and Betty Jo McDaniel were married. Wes retired from the United States Army in January, 1971 after 27 years of military service. He was a veteran of World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, American Defense Service Medal, World War II Victory Medal, Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal 7th award, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Army Occupation Medal and Army Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster. Wes was employed by Noble County district 3 until he retired in 1992. Wes attended Bible Baptist Church in Guthrie, Oklahoma and was a member of the National VFW and NCOA. He enjoyed the outdoors, particularly hunting, fishing, gardening and feeding the birds at CCC Lake. His family would like to express their thanks to the many landowners for the generosity they extended to Wes by permitting him to hunt and fish on their land. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 13, 2005 in the Brown-Dugger Funeral Home Chapel. Robby Robbins will officiate. Interment will be in Grace Hill Cemetery under direction of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home of Perry, Oklahoma. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association in care of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home, 1010 N. 7th, Perry, OK 73077. Wes is survived by his wife, Betty Jo; one daughter, Sherri Dawn Wells, of Perry, Oklahoma; three sons, Gary Merrill Robbins and his wife, Rita, of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Robby Robbins and his wife, Kathy, of Guthrie, Oklahoma and Wesley Lee Robbins and his wife, Molly, of Perkins, Oklahoma; one sister, Ellen Brewer, of Orlando, Oklahoma; four granddaughters, Sherri, Brooke, Erin and Monica; five grandsons, Wesley, Garrett, Galen, Zach and Seth; four great-granddaughters, Lainey, Andy, Ryan and Reece; and eight great-grandsons, Dillon, Jared, Rob, Jay, Cort, Bo, Alex and Zeb.
