Wanda Faye Hudson Wallace has gone to her heavenly home. She was only 78 years old. She was born on April 28, 1942 in Clayhole, Kentucky the daughter of Tolbert and Grace (Combs) Hudson. Raised in Kentucky and Ohio, Wanda graduated high school in 1960. She worked as a waitress for many years. She married the love of her life, Larry Wallace on January 27, 1961. Together they raised five children and a host of grandchildren. She enjoyed baking for the holidays and made the world’s best chocolate pie. She displayed and collected pictures of her family as well as newspaper clippings of those she loved. She was a long-time member of the First Assembly of God Church of Perry, joining in 1983. While serving at the First Assembly of God, she was best known for her work with the Benevolence Fund and the Ministerial Alliance. She also gave much of her time to her work in Perry along side her husband Larry repairing appliances with Larry's Appliance. She loved watching westerns including Gunsmoke and always rooted for the Dallas Cowboys.
She was preceded in death by her father Tolbert Hudson, Mother Grace Bliss Combs Hudson, husband Larry Wallace, son-in-law Kelly Wyn Mills, great granddaughter Skylar Fay Duncan, brother Advus Hudson, sister Betty Wheeler as well as brothers-in-law Robert Vaughn and Barry Baker.
Wanda leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter Angela Scoggins and her husband Rocky of Perry, son Lawrence Wallace and his wife Cindy of Perry, son Ronald Wallace and his wife Heather of Stillwater, daughter Lori Wallace of Utah ,and daughter Christi Mills of Stillwater. Also mourning her loss, her grandchildren: Rocky Scoggins, Jr. and his wife Raegan of Edmond, Michael Scoggins of Edmond, Amanda Foley of Oklahoma City, Jessica Wallace of Oklahoma City, Jennifer Wallace of Oklahoma City, Jordan Wallace of Oklahoma City, Ashley Burgess of Perry, Braden Wallace of Perry, Brody Wallace of Perry, Devin Wallace and his wife Tiffani of Oklahoma City, Gracelyne Wallace of Stillwater, Sylest O’Neal and her husband Justin of Edmond, Essence Moses of Utah, Shelbi Carpenter and her fiancé Hector Escobedo of Stillwater, Lyndsi Carpenter and her fiancé Dylan Misener of Missouri, and Donavin Mills of Stillwater. Great grandchildren are Ariana Scoggins, Moses Mims, and Chunky Escobedo. Also surviving are sister Reva Vaughan of Ohio, brother Tolbert Hudson, Jr. and his wife Karen of Ohio, sister Phyllis Baker of Florida, and sister Pam Moening and her husband Jeff of Ohio, Sister-in-law Norma Hudson many nieces and nephews, a large extended family, and special friends and neighbors Rhonda and Betty.
Close friends of Wanda, the three called themselves the three musketeers.
Funeral services will be held at the First Assembly of God Church of Perry on Wednesday, 2 p.m. (2/3/2021) with Pastor Brett Nation presiding. Honorary bearers for the service include Rocky Scoggins, Sr., Rocky Scoggins, Jr., Larry Wallace, Ron Wallace, Devin Wallace, Michael Scoggins, Chunky Escobedo, and Moses Mims.
Friends are welcome to stop by the Funeral Home at 1010 N 7th street Perry to pay their respects and sign the guest book on Monday (2/1) 2 pm until 7 pm and Tuesday (2/2) 10 am until 7 pm. Family will be hosting a reception at Brown-Dugger on Tuesday Evening from 5 until 7 to receive guests. Refreshments will be served all are welcome to attend.
