Walter Pagel

June 30, 1927 — September 11, 2008

Walter Christian Pagel, of Perry, Oklahoma , was the son of Christian and Emma Reschke Pagel and was born June 30, 1927 at Perry, Oklahoma. He was received into the Kingdom of God through baptism and was confirmed at the Christ Lutheran Church. He died on September 11, 2008 at the age of 81 at Perry Memorial Hospital. He attended Longview School at Orlando, Oklahoma. Walter was drafted into the United States Army in 1945 and served his country during World War II. In 1948, Walter met the love of his life, Irene Lillian Rupp. They were married on March 11, 1951 at the Zion Lutheran Church, east of Perry. They shared a wonderful and happy marriage of 57 years. Walter worked at the OK Gas Station and retired from Farmers Coop after 33 years of employment. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 15, 2008 at Christ Lutheran Church in Perry. Rev. William Metz will officiate. Interment will be in Grace Hill Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home of Perry. Memorials may be made to Christ Lutheran Church or the charity of the donor's choice in care of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home, 1010 N. 7th Street, Perry, Oklahoma 73077. In addition to his loving wife, Irene, of the home, Walter is survived by one son, Wayne and his wife, Diana, of Perry, Oklahoma; one daughter, Nancy and her husband, Jim Stock, of Kingfisher, Oklahoma; four grandsons, Curt Stock and wife, Ali, of Phoenix, Arizona, Brad Stock and Mike Stock, both of Kingfisher, Oklahoma and Shawn Pagel of Tulsa, Oklahoma; one brother, Carl Pagel and his wife, Linda, of Wichita, Kansas; and one sister, Bertha Orcutt, of Sand Springs, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, Adam Pagel, sister and brother-in-law, Fred and Rosella Karcher, and brother-in-law, Dolph Orcutt.
