Walter Brokop

Walter Walt Brokop, 93, of Perry, Oklahoma, was the son of E.R. and Theo Bieberdorf Brokop. He was born November 21, 1919 in Henning, Minnesota and passed away on January 5, 2013 at Perry Memorial Hospital in Perry, Oklahoma. Walt was a lifelong resident of Perry. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II achieving the rank of T5 He married his best friend and sweetheart, Mary Elizabeth Hageman on June 15, 1954 at in Ponca City. Walt was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church serving in various capacities within the church. He enjoyed welding, building machinery and various types of equipment, however his greatest joy was playing with children of all ages and sharing his stories with them. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Zion Lutheran Church. Interment will be at Grace Hill Cemetery, Perry, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of BrownDugger Funeral Home in Perry, Oklahoma. Memorials may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church in care of BrownDugger Funeral Home, 1010 N. 7th Perry, Oklahoma 73077. Walt is survived by his wife of fifty eight years Mary of the home one sister Dorothy Kempka Watkins of Rayville, Louisiana several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents E.R. and Theo Brokop, four sisters, Lillie Brokop, Anna Kempka Shehow, Frieda Brokop Hoeffer and Olga Brokop two brothers Arthur Kempka and Edward Kempka.
