Thomas Lee Underwood, 70, of Cushing, Oklahoma was the son of Floy Lee and Helen Dorothy Vance Underwood. He was born March 5, 1935 in Roanoke, Virginia and died Thursday, June 23, 2005 at the Cushing Regional Hospital in Cushing, Oklahoma. On March 24, 1956, Thomas and Elizabeth Ann Howell were married in Sumner, Oklahoma. Thomas was a graduate of Oklahoma A M 1956 and held a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Thomas pastored various churches around the United States including Battle Mountain, Nevada, Tooele, Utah, and Enid, Marshal, Cushing and Stillwater, Oklahoma. Thomas was a member of the Christian faculty and staff at Oklahoma State University where he was employed in Bio Systems and Ag Engineering as a Research Technician for twenty-seven years. Thomas was associated with the Rainbow Ministry and until recently served as a part-time pastor of the Korean Baptist Church in Stillwater. He enjoyed working with and tutoring international students, singing and helping people. He was a member of the Korean Baptist Church in Stillwater, was a lifetime member of the NRA and was a ham radio operator. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 25, 2005 at the Korean Baptist Church at 2015 East Virginia Avenue in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Rev. Albert Quick and Senior Pastor Heonju Lee will officiate. Interment will be in the Sumner Cemetery at Sumner, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home of Perry, Oklahoma. Memorial contributions may be made to the Korean Baptist Church of Stillwater or Judith Karman Hospice in care of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home, 1010 N. 7th Street, Perry, OK 73077. His parents and two infant twin brothers preceded him in death. Thomas is survived by his wife, Betty Underwood, three children, Rachel Freeby and her husband, Robert, of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Thomas H. Underwood and his wife, Rebecca, of Perkins, Oklahoma and Rebecca Wilson, of Stillwater, Oklahoma; seven granddaughters, Erica Matthiesen and her husband, Pete, of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Erin Lee Freeby, of Washington, D.C., Lauren Underwood, of Perkins, Oklahoma, Meagan Underwood, of Perkins, Oklahoma, Cameron Wilson, of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Cindy Wilson, of Stillwater, Oklahoma and Cathy Wilson, of Stillwater, Oklahoma; one great-grandson, Gaven Keith, of Stillwater, Oklahoma; one great-granddaughter, Jaden Wilson, of Stillwater, Oklahoma; one brother, Richard Underwood and his wife, Patsy, of Fairbanks, Alaska and one sister, Mary Craddock and her husband, Jack, of Marietta, Oklahoma.
