He was accepted into the Automotive Industry Paint and Body program, setting him on course for a lengthy career in the auto restoration field. Mike spent 40 years working in custom auto restoration. He was well known for his talents, having won numerous awards and trophies at car shows over the years. Many of Mikes friends and customers won car show awards for vehicles which Mike had customized and restored for them. He truly enjoyed sharing his talent with others. He was especially proud of the restoration projects that were featured in Hot Rod Magazine over the course of his career. Mikes pride and joy was his 83 Chevy Silverado truck, which he lowered and custom painted cobalt blue. Mike married his best friend and sweetheart Mary Lou English Baker, on September 12, 1986 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Through 26 years of marriage, Mike and Mary were inseparable.
