Thomas Snider

Thomas Tom Lee Snider, 75, Perry, Oklahoma was the son of Thomas Lee and Cora Mable Bell Snider. He was born June 9, 1938 in Leedey, Oklahoma and died Sunday, July 28, 2013 at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Tom was a 1956 graduate of Elk City High School, Elk City, Oklahoma. He served his country in the Oklahoma National Guard, 95th Reserve from 1955 to 1963. Tom married his best friend and sweetheart, Bernita Doreen Melton on September 9, 1957 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. He worked as a resident engineer for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation ODOT for thirtyfive years, he was also the branch manager for ODOT in Enid, Oklahoma. He retired from ODOT in 1991. Tom also worked parttime farming, as this was a lifelong passion. After retirement Tom enjoyed carpentry work but most of all spending time with his family and friends. Tom was a member of the Antique Tractor Club, he served as an officer in Toast Masters Club and an active member of the Calvary Baptist Church. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 1, 2013 at the Calvary Baptist Church in Perry, Oklahoma. Rev. Roger Dunn will officiate. Interment will be at Grace Hill Cemetery, Perry, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of BrownDugger Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at BrownDugger Funeral Home, Perry, Oklahoma. Tom is survived by his wife, Doreen of the home three sons, Thomas Lee Snider Jr. and his wife, Rita of Edmond, Oklahoma, Royce Snider and his wife, Missy of Haslet, Texas and Eddie Snider and his wife, Crystal of Wichita Falls, Texas eleven grandchildren, Kent Snider of Van Buren, Arkansas, Kiala Powell of Wollongong, Australia, Rachel Coulter of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Ryli Snider of Searcy, Arkansas, Madison Snider of Haslet, Texas, Jessie Snider of Haslet, Texas, Heaven Snider, Blue Grove, Ohio , Elijah Snider, Andrew Snider, Samuel Snider and Lucelia Snider all of Wichita Falls, Texas two sisters, Anna Mae Harrell, El Reno, Oklahoma, Ruby Talley and her husband, W.A. of Tyler, Texas one stepson, Merle Harmon and his wife, Mara of Douglas, Oklahoma four step grandchildren, Sheila Anderson of Enid, Oklahoma, Stephanie Slavens of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Harley Harmon of Enid, Oklahoma, Ryan Harmon of Tulsa, Oklahoma four step greatgrandchildren, Kaysha Stanley of Enid, Oklahoma, Brayden Deason of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Tesla Felber of Stillwater, Oklahoma and Brock Anderson of Enid, Oklahoma.
