Teddy James Green (Ted), 86 years old of Perry, Oklahoma passed into the arms of Jesus Thursday, March 13, 2025. He was born on September 17, 1938, to Mervyn Emmett Green and Mary Nettie Lebow Green on the family farm of Orlando, Oklahoma. He was the youngest of five boys. Ted loved his Lord Jesus Christ and was born into the family of God by his salvation gift of accepting Jesus as his Savior and through his sins being forgiven his life reflected, he was a Christian servant. He loved to read his Bible and the devotion book- Jesus Calling.
The Green family lived simple but hard lives farming and working on the railroad. They were always ready to help others, and Ted taught his family the same godly principle.
Ted went to Star School before he was officially of age and Mrs. Wisner worked with him. He was eager to learn. He graduated at the age of 17 from Orlando High School. His favorite subject was Math. His least favorite subject was Reading. He played basketball and tried out for baseball but that didn’t work for him.
Ted worked on the railroad at a very early age. From there he started a career as a butcher for 15 plus years. Ted then worked for Charles Machine Works/ Ditch Witch for over thirty years. When he retired, he became a volunteer for the Auxiliary Program at Perry Memorial Hospital (Stillwater Medical Center) for twenty years. Ted was a caregiver and also a volunteer Christian leader in jail ministry.
He loved being a preschool age Sunday school teacher. The love of Ted’s life was his family. Norma L Buller and Teddy James Green met at the grocery store where he butchered and she came in with her mom, Esther. She was still in school, so they had to wait till she graduated from high school to ger married. They were married on June 19,1960 and made their home in Perry, Oklahoma. One year later their first son David Allen Green was born. Later came daughter Becky Louise Green and their second son Warren Ross Green- adopted at 3 ½ months old.
Ted enjoyed fishing, cooking, going to First Baptist Church of Perry where he was a member, watching TV, bowling in his younger days and most of all spending time with his family and friends.
Mr. Green is survived by his son David A. Green of Broken Arrow, daughter Becky L Green Dyer and her husband David of Blairsville, GA, grandchildren Joshua, Christopher and Whitney Dyer, Abigail Green Bohannan, and Landin Green, as well as one unborn great granddaughter.

Mattthew 11:28-30 were the scriptures he stood on. He is right where he wanted to be “to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord” 2 Corinthians 5:8.
