Taylor Smith

January 15, 1928 — June 9, 2015

T.E. (Buck) Smith was born on January 15, 1928 in Perry, OK. His parents were "Buck" and Iva Lee (Knori) Smith. His grandparents Sam and Maude Knori of Perry, OK raised him after the passing of his mother in 1930.

He attended Hunter and Talala OK Schools. He served in the Army and overseas in Japan in the late 1940's. He was married to the former Virginia Lee Quance on October 29, 1948 in Perry, OK.

They farmed for many years southwest of town on the Knori home place. He then went to work as a pumper in Texas, New Mexico and then to Orlando, OK. He retired from Mid Con Corp in 1985.

He loved fishing and gardening.

Survivors include his wife of the home Virginia, one daughter Iva Lee Washington and husband, Mark Washington of Orlando; four grandchildren: Scott Washington of El Reno, OK, Amanda Smith of Mt. Juliet, TN, Jason and Aaron Smith of Nashville, TN; one great granddaughter: Allison Washington of Oklahoma City, OK.

He was preceded by one son Terry Dean, his parents, and grandparents: Sam and Maude Knori, W.T. and Pearl Smith; one infant brother.

The funeral service will be at 2 pm on Monday June 15, 2015 at Brown-Dugger Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Grace Hill Cemetery Pavilion. The care of the family is under the direction of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 1010 N 7th, Perry, Ok 73077.
