Steve Dugger, 74, of Orlando, Oklahoma, was the son of James Edward and Ocie Mary Smith Dugger. He was born October 6, 1931 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2006 at his home after a long, hard-fought battle with diabetes and heart disease. Steve was raised in the Oklahoma City area. He and Arlene Sanders were married October 12, 1952 in Gainesville, Texas. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1951-1957. His military service included two tours during the Korean Conflict. He was awarded a Korean Service Medal, a National Defense Service Medal and a Good Conduct Medal. Steve retired from the Yazoo Valley Oil Mill in Greenwood, Mississippi in 1999 and moved back to Oklahoma after retirement. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 8, 2006 at the Orlando United Methodist Church in Orlando, Oklahoma. Pastor Adrian Pollard will officiate. Interment will be in Morris Heights Cemetery at Orlando, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home of Perry, Oklahoma. Memorials may be made to the Orlando United Methodist Church in care of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home, 1010 N. 7th Street, Perry, Oklahoma 73077. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Arlene; three children, a son, Kenny Dugger and his wife, Judy of Lucedale, Mississippi, a daughter, Marilyn Morgan and her husband, Butch, of Orlando, Oklahoma, and a son, Steve Dugger and his wife, Elizabeth of Greenwood, Mississippi; six grandchildren, Kelly, Ashley, Chris, Jason, Josh and Katie; two great-grandchildren, Ricky and Natalie; one brother and two sisters. Steve was preceded in death by his son Michael Dugger of Orlando, Oklahoma, his father and mother, eight brothers and four sisters.
