Sheldon Morris

Sheldon Frank Morris, 74, of Perry, Oklahoma, was born February 6, 1936, to James David Jim and Annetta Francis Nettie Giltner Morris in Tiskilwa, Illinois. Sheldon joined the army after high school and served in Germany. After his overseas duty, he was stationed at Fort Riley in Manhattan, Kansas, where he met Roberta Mae Sobba, who was a student at Kansas State University. Sheldon and Roberta were married June 15, 1956, in Burlington, Kansas, at the home of family friends. They lived in Bluffton, Indiana and Wichita, Kansas, before moving to the farm Medford, Oklahoma in 1959. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 12, 2010 at the Caldwell City Cemetery in Caldwell, Kansas. Father Mike Weelahan will officiate. Services are under the direction of BrownDugger Funeral Home in Perry. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of BrownDugger Funeral Home, 1010 N. 7th Street, Perry, Oklahoma 73077. Sheldon and Roberta were the parents of six children. He is survived by his children: son, Lowry and wife, Dana Morris, of Wichita, Kansas son, Randy Morris of Houston, Texas son, Todd Morris of Stillwater, Oklahoma son, Rodney Morris and Dean Emmons, of Houston, Texas and daughter, Jennie and husband, Connelly Wade, of Perry, Oklahoma. Sheldon is also survived by six grandchildren: Mike Morris of Wichita, Kansas Broc Morris of Stillwater, Oklahoma and Nathan, Karlie, Allison, and Eva Wade, of Perry, Oklahoma and two greatgrandsons: Braden Toohey and Hank Morris of Wichita, Kansas. Sheldon was preceded in death by his wife, Roberta on February 12, 1978 and one son Douglas Jon on November 6, 1963.
