Roy D. "Bud" Avery died peacefully in his home on October 20th 2017 at Garber, Ok at the age of 78.
Bud is survived by his wife Ona of the home. Two children; Tonya Avery of Enid, Brent and wife Katie Avery of Mustang and sister Earleen Judkins of Hennessy. Bud was blessed with three grandchildren; Ashlynn Moutaw, Aryn and husband Tyler Kirby, and Amelia Avery. He is proceeded in death by his father Earl Avery, mother Eileen Avery and his uncle/brother and best friend Ronald Powell.
Bud was born January 16th 1939 to Earl and Eileen Avery in Lucien. Bud spent the majority of his youth in Garber and attended Garber schools. Bud was drafted into the U.S. Army January 18th 1962, and stationed at Fort Hood, Texas. During this time he married Ona M. Bailey of Covington on December 12th 1962. After an honorable discharge in 1964 Bud and Ona moved back to the Garber area where they remained for over 54 years. Bud worked for Halliburton for 10 years. He then decided to start Roy D. "Bud" Avery Trucking which he continued as owner/operator for over 37 years.
Bud will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was a generous individual who helped others and loved to visit and reminisce of times past and present. He was passionate about providing for his family and making sure everything was "taken care of." He was an active attendee of Abundant Life Church in Enid, Ok.
A funeral is scheduled for 10:00 am on October 25th 2017 at Garber Assembly of God. All are welcome to attended and celebrate Bud's life. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice Circle of Love in Enid, OK, Abundant Life Church in Enid Or Garber Assembly of God Missions in Garber, OK.
