Robert Dean Brunken, 73, of Garber, Oklahoma was the son of Duane and Lucille Brink Brunken. He was born June 30, 1938 at Covington, Oklahoma and died July 20, 2011 at St. Marys Regional Medical Center in Enid, Oklahoma. Robert graduated from Garber High School on May 18, 1956. He was a member of the United States Army Reserve from 19601966. On July 21, 1963, he and LaVerle Janssen were married at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Enid, Oklahoma. Robert was an elder and served as a deacon of the Garber Christian Church where he had been a member since April 17, 1949. He was a farmer and owned and operated Brunken Construction. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at the Garber Christian Church. Doyle Newsom, pastor, will officiate. Interment will be in the Garber Cemetery under direction of Dugger Funeral Home of Garber. In addition to his wife, LaVerle, Robert is survived by one son, LTC Eric Brunken and his wife, Krista, of Heath, Texas two daughters, Dena McEachern and her husband, Scott, of Enid, Oklahoma and Ginger BrunkenMoreno and her husband, Richard, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma five grandchildren, Kinzy and Zac McEachern, both of Enid, Oklahoma, and Ocean, Juliet and Mandolin Moreno, all of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma two brothers, Gene Lee Brunken of Ponca City, Oklahoma and Marvin Brunken and his wife, Pam, of Bartlett, Texas and three sisters, Patricia Trekell of Rock Springs, Wyoming, Shirley Patocka and her husband, LeRoy, of Enid, Oklahoma and Betty Levings and her husband, Fred, of Garber, Oklahoma. Robert was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Donald Brunken.
