Richard Witter

March 25, 1921 — April 16, 2008

Richard Emmet Witter, 87, of Perry, Oklahoma was the son of Floyd E. and Lillie Meads Witter. He was born March 25, 1921 at Perry, Oklahoma and died Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at his home. Richard served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He and Mary Ann Enright were married on May 1, 1961 in Perry, Oklahoma. His wife preceded him in death on February 27, 1997. Richard was a water and light technician for the City of Perry before he retired. He had a green thumb and enjoyed gardening, canning, indoor plants, raising rabbits, chasing grandkids, fishing and carpentry work. Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 19, 2008 in the Brown-Dugger Funeral Home Chapel in Perry. Rev. Roger Dunn will officiate. Services are under the direction of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home, 1010 N. 7th Street, Perry, Oklahoma 73077. Richard is survived by one son, David Witter, of Perry, Oklahoma; one daughter, Debbie Knight, of Perry, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, LaChelle Witter, Anthony Witter, Meliah Wilson, Amber Knight, Ian Knight and Zach Knight, all of Perry, Oklahoma; five great-grandchildren and one sister, Thelma Friend, of Perry, Oklahoma.
