Raymond Snyder

Raymond L. Snyder, 85, of Perry, Oklahoma was the son of Hurley Clifford and Amy Viola Nelson Snyder. He was born March 5, 1922 at Billings, Oklahoma and died Thursday, April 19, 2007 at Perry Memorial Hospital. Raymond served his country in the United States Air Force from 1942 until 1960. He and Lorraine Carey were married on March 16, 1946 in Wichita, Kansas. Raymond was a member of the American Legion Post 128 of Sidney Iowa. He was of the Methodist faith. Mr. and Mrs. Snyder moved to the Perry community from Sidney, Iowa nine years ago. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 23, 2007 in the United Methodist Church at Lucien, Oklahoma. Rev. Paul Krueger will officiate. Interment will be in McGuire Cemetery at Lucien, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home of Perry. There will be a family visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, April 22, 2007 at the Brown-Dugger Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Lucien United Methodist Church in care of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home, 1010 N. 7th Street, Perry, Oklahoma 73077. In addition to his wife, Lorraine, Raymond is survived by two sons, Jerry J. Snyder, of Gastonia, North Carolina and Danny Snyder, of Atlanta, Georgia; three grandchildren, one great-grandchild and three sisters, Dorothy Dowell, of Perry, Oklahoma, Velma Collier, of McKinney, Texas and Virginia Richardson of Lucien, Oklahoma. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Lawrence Snyder and Robert Snyder.
