Obituary for Ray Leon Seward Sr.
Ray Leon Seward Sr., 76, of Perry, Oklahoma was born on March 2, 1942 in Jennings, Oklahoma to Henry Butler Seward and Cleo (Bishop) Seward. He went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 14, 2018 in Oklahoma City surrounded by his loving family.
He attended school in Ralston, Oklahoma where he met and fell in love with his wife, Carol Seward.
They were wed in the spring of 1961 in a tiny town right outside of Ponca City, Pleasant view, Oklahoma. They moved to Perry and raised three sons that Ray was so incredibly proud of.

Ray started his career at the City of Perry as an electrical line foreman for 19 years and worked in Ponca City as an electrician for 1 year. He later in life he was drawn to the oil field. He worked in the oil industry as a Contract Oil Field Pumper for 40 years for a few different companies. Ray kept himself quite busy even when he wasn't working. He spent a fixated amount of time on mowing lawns. He would help those in his community keep their lawns maintained if anyone was ever in need. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Ray always enjoyed the rodeo, so it was a treasured moment each time he could assist the grandkids in their races or other activities. He also liked catching a good deal at a garage sale and riding his horses from time to time.
Ray was very active in his community and maintained various memberships. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Perry and a 33rd degree Mason. Has also a member of the Guthrie Scottish Rites as well as a Shriner. He attended and was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Perry, Oklahoma, but was also an attendee at the Lucien Branded Cowboy Church. Following God's plan was important to Ray and he loved being able to help serve by helping his community any way possible. Ray was a loving and loyal husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be missed by many.
Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 19, 2018 at the First Baptist Church in Perry, Oklahoma. Services have been entrusted to the care of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home in Perry, Oklahoma.
He will be remembered for his kind heart and the love he shared with his family.
Cherishing his memory are his wife, Carol (McCune) Seward of Perry, Oklahoma; sons, Ray Seward Jr. of Perry, Oklahoma, and Ricky Seward of Perry, Oklahoma; granddaughters, Carol Ann Seward of Perry, Oklahoma and Raelynn Seward of Perry, Oklahoma; grandson, Mathew Seward and his wife Mellisa of Crescent, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren, Kaden Seward and Maci Seward both of Crescent, Oklahoma.
He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Randall Seward; and 4 sisters.
