Ralph V. Nida, 75, of Perry, Oklahoma, was the son of Ralph and Bonnie Reed Nida. He was born December 23, 1930 in Yellville, Arkansas and died Wednesday, March 1, 2006 at Green Valley Nursing Home in Perry. Ralph was a 1948 graduate of Orlando High School at Orlando, Oklahoma. He served his country in the United States Marines from March 4, 1952 until March 5, 1954 and earned the rank of Corporal before he was honorably discharged from service. He and JoAnn Crews were married and to this union eight children were born. Prior to retiring, he was self-employed as a welder. He enjoyed coon hunting and fishing. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 4, 2006 at the First Christian Church in Perry. Rev. Martin Foster will officiate. Interment will be in Grace Hill Cemetery in Perry. Services are under the direction of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home, 1010 N. 7th Street, Perry, Oklahoma 73077. Survivors are three sons, Hank Nida, Ralph V. Nida Jr. and William J. Nida, all of Perry, Oklahoma; three daughters, Cheryl A. Jeter, of Perry, Oklahoma, Shirley R. Battles, of Blackwell, Oklahoma and Ethel A. England, of Montrose, Colorado; one brother, Kenneth Nida, of Covington, Oklahoma; two sisters, Bonnita Foster, of Perry, Oklahoma and Doris Alexander, of Coppell, Texas; 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Nancy Nida Smith, and one son, Kenny Bob Nida.
