Phyllis Quiroz, 64, of Greensburg, Kansas, died Sunday, January 22, 2006. She was born on October 26, 1941, to Harold and Enid Eastman Sands in their home northwest of Cimarron, Kansas. She was a 1959 graduate of Cimarron High School. Upon graduation, she attended Southern Nazarene University in Bethany, Oklahoma, graduating with a BS in Business Education in 1964. Phyllis married Carl Quiroz on August 1, 1964 in Cimarron, Kansas. She enjoyed making a home for her family in the many places to which her husband was assigned while in the United States Air Force. Together they lived in South Dakota, England, San Antonio, Taiwan and New Mexico. She has been actively involved at the Iroquois Center for Human Development in Greensburg, Kansas. She was named their Consumer of the Year this past January. She was also chosen to be a speaker at a Recovery Conference in Wichita, Kansas. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 23, 2006 at the Grace Hill Memorial Pavilion at Grace Hill Cemetery in Perry, Oklahoma. Pastor Steve Smith of the Church of the Nazarene in Perry, Oklahoma will officiate. Services are under the direction of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home in Perry, Oklahoma. Memorials may be made to the Iroquois Center for Human Development, Inc. and mailed to Brown-Dugger Funeral Home, 1010 N. 7th Street, Perry, Oklahoma 73077. Phyllis is survived by one daughter, Sonya Cosentino and her husband, Nic, of Wichita, Kansas; two step-grandchildren, Maria Cosentino and Joey Cosentino, both of Wichita, Kansas; one brother, Harold Sands of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and one sister, Dorene Pense and her husband, Harold, of Perry, Oklahoma.
