Paul Welch

Paul Henry Welch, 69, of Blackwell, Oklahoma died Tuesday, August 22, 2006 at his home. Paul was born November 2, 1936 in Columbus, Kansas to Paul David and Myrtle Gracie Greiggory Welch. Paul graduated from high school in Baxter Springs, Kansas and then made a career in the United States Air Force serving as a Missile Pneudralic Repair Technician during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam, retiring in 1975. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 2855 and the American Legion Post 7 of Blackwell, Oklahoma. Paul married Evelyn Gilbert August 9, 1955 in Hockerville, Oklahoma and they have lived in Blackwell for thirty one years. He was a member of the Christ Church of Blackwell. Paul had a great love for his family and will be missed by all who knew him. He was an avid fisherman with many fish stories to tell. A Memorial Service will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 26, 2006 at the Christ Church of Blackwell, Oklahoma with the Rev. Frank Tepe officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Dugger Funeral Home in Blackwell, Oklahoma. He is survived by his wife of the home, Evelyn; his sons, Paul Welch, Jr. and his wife, Crystal of Mississippi, Michael Welch and his wife, Melissa of Oklahoma, Shawn Welch of Oklahoma; his daughters, Mary Marshall and her husband, Troy of Mississippi, Cindy Baird and her husband, Calvin of Oklahoma, Penny Nichols and her husband, Alex of Texas, Diana Wickham and her husband, Gary, Tammy Parr and her husband, Curtis, Bethany Crosby and her husband, Mark all of Oklahoma; his brother, Tom Welch and his wife, Georgie of Oklahoma; nineteen grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; a grand daughter, Jennifer Lynn Marshall; a brother, Carl Welch; and a sister, Louise Gustin.
