Othel L. Teck Sloan, 105, of Perry, Oklahoma was the son of John H. and Lutishie T. Jordan Sloan. He was born January 4, 1904 in Ozark, Missouri and died Friday, October 9, 2009 at Perry Memorial Hospital. On August 7, 1930, he and Anna Catherine Hasenfratz were married in Perry. Teck farmed and raised cattle and worked in the oilfields until 1968. He later operated a grader for Noble County until he retired. He was an avid outdoorsman and fisherman who was nicknamed Teck by his brothers in honor of a neighbor who had boasted about his rifle shooting ability. Teck was known for his sweet disposition. He enjoyed playing dominoes and cards at the Perry Senior Citizens Center until his eyesight failed. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 11, 2009 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Father Tom Dowdell will officiate. Interment will be in St. Rose of Lima Catholic Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday, October 10, 2009 at Brown-Dugger Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Perry Senior Citizens Center in care of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home, 1010 N. 7th Street, Perry, Oklahoma 73077. Teck is survived by one son, Donald Don Sloan of Lake Kiowa, Texas; five grandchildren, Lea Ann Sorgen of Seattle, Washington, Janet Stricklin of Mustang, Oklahoma, Kelly Sloan of Highland Park, Illinois, Mark Sloan of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Scott Sloan of Leander, Texas; 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lutishie Sloan; his wife, Anna Sloan, who died on April 17, 1997; one son, Wilbur Sloan; two daughters-in-law, Patsy Sloan and Beverly Sloan; three sisters and three brothers.
