Olen Morgan

Olen Arch Morgan, 81, of Morrison, Oklahoma was the son of Ira Sherman and Myrtle Tate Morgan. He was born June 9, 1922 at Kaw City, Oklahoma and died Tuesday, July 22, 2003 at Stillwater Medical Center, Stillwater, Oklahoma. He served in the United States Marine Corps Reserve from September 26, 1942 until October 29, 1945, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant before he was honorably discharged. On August 29, 1955, he and Dorothy Fleharty were married at Newkirk, Oklahoma. Olen worked as a mechanic. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and working on machines. He was associated with the Morrison Assembly of God Church and a member of the American Legion. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 24, 2003 at the Assembly of God Church in Morrison. Pastor Jimmy D. Keith will officiate. Interment will be in the Morrison Cemetery under direction of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Morrison Assembly of God Building Fund in care of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home. Survivors are his wife, Dorothy, of the home; one daughter, Iris Shirley Branscum and her husband, Charles, Stillwater, Oklahoma; one brother, Calvin Morgan, Hillside, Illinois; one grandson, Allen Gene Morgan, Jackson, Michigan; three granddaughters, Traci Dawn Horton and her husband, Randy, Henryetta, Oklahoma, Chelsea Branscum, Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Amy Laughlin and her husband, Nathan, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Olen was preceded in death by one son, Ronald Gene Morgan, his parents, one sister and five brothers.
