Nona Lea Osborn, 95, passed away Saturday, November 16, 2019 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born July 12, 1924 in Billings, Oklahoma to Lloyd and Flossie Roberts.
Nona married Daniel Garth Osborn on May 14, 1943 in Bryan, Texas after they both graduated from Billings High School. Dan was the Senior Class President and Nona was Treasurer/Secretary. From their marriage to the end of WWII Nona studied at secretarial school and followed Dan during his service as a pilot in the US Army Air Corps. After the war they started their family. Their 71-year marriage produced three children, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Together, Dan and Nona were devoted to genealogy which spurred their travels in the US and abroad – connecting them with current relatives and past ancestors. Nona was an avid artist, cook, reader, volunteer, and seamstress – having sewn the children’s cloths. She also loved antiquing, painting, and arts & crafts.
Nona is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel and is survived by her daughter Pamela L. Fischer and her husband Roger A. Fischer of Broken Arrow; her daughter Christine Cox and her husband Donald E. Cox of Garland, TX; and her son Daniel G. Osborn II of Minneapolis, MN. Surviving grandchildren include Jeffrey A.
