Nile Edward Butler, 76, of Perry, Oklahoma, was the son of Elmer Hamilton and Minnie Sherman Butler. He was born on June 18, 1932 in Chandler, Oklahoma and died Friday, October 31, 2008 at his home. On June 3, 1972, Nile married Deloris Rippee at the Four Square Church in Ponca City, Oklahoma. Nile enjoyed hunting, farming, gardening, fishing and his hound dogs. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at the First Baptist Church in Marland, Oklahoma. Pastor Steve Smith will officiate. Interment will be in Resthaven Cemetery in Ponca City, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Dugger Funeral Home in Billings, Oklahoma. Nile is survived by his wife, Deloris Butler; one daughter, Sharlet Jane Napier of Perry, Oklahoma; former wife, Johanna L. Robinson Cody; one son, Edward James Butler of Davenport, Oklahoma; one daughter, DeNisa Darl Ann Howe of Wagoner, Oklahoma; four step-children, Larry Humble, Hubert Humble, Karen Wasson and Gail Edwards; twenty-seven grandchildren; forty-five great-grandchildren; one brother, Ray Butler of Chandler, Oklahoma and two sisters, Bertha Wakely of Chandler, Oklahoma and Edith Mae Cardwell of Noble, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by one infant son, Michael DeWayne Butler, his parents, Elmer and Minnie Butler, two brothers, Elard Lee Butler and Elmer Hamilton Butler, Jr. and four sisters, Ann Yates, Addie Smother, Hazel Butler and Nellie Butler.
