Nadine Betchan

Nadine L. Betchan, 79, of Perry, Oklahoma, was the daughter of W.H. and Mae Smith Breuninger. She was born July 31, 1926 at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and died Thursday, June 1, 2006 at Green Valley Nursing Home in Perry, Oklahoma. Nadine was raised in Orlando, Oklahoma and was a life-long resident of the Perry area. She attended Harmony school and was a 1944 graduate of Orlando High School. Nadine taught school at Lawnview from 1945-1947. She and Doyle Pete Betchan were married May 18, 1946 in the Baptist parsonage in Perry, Oklahoma. Attending the couple were Herbert and Helen Betchan. Nadine will be remembered for her love of fishing, sewing and her family and friends. She was a member of the Lucien United Methodist Church and Whipple Ladies Aid. Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, June 3, 2006 at the United Methodist Church in Lucien. Rev. Paulette Albright and Rev. C.M. Wilson will officiate. Interment will be in the Morris Heights Cemetery at Orlando, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home of Perry. A family visitation will be held from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Friday, June 2, 2006 at Brown-Dugger Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Lucien United Methodist Church or Companion Hospice in care of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home, 1010 N. 7th Street, Perry, OK 73077. Nadine is survived by two sons, Don Betchan and his wife, Karen, and Jack Betchan and his wife, Connie, all of Perry, Oklahoma; one daughter, Marilyn Inselman and her husband, John, of Perry, Oklahoma; three granddaughters, Angie Beckham and her husband, Joe Jr., of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Angel Moore and her husband, Dean, of Petaluma, California and Tina Bowman and her husband, David, of Perry, Oklahoma; five grandsons, Troy Betchan and his wife, Karen, of Fort Worth, Texas, and Tom Betchan and his wife, Stacey, Justin Betchan and his wife, Jenny, Warren Mills and his wife, Tessa, and Terry Mills and his wife, Sharla, all of Perry, Oklahoma; 14 great-grandchildren, one brother, Ken Breuninger and his wife, Rita, of Stillwater, Oklahoma; two sisters-in-law, Alma Betchan, of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Dora Betchan, of Bethany, Oklahoma; and many, many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband, Pete, Nadine was preceded in death by her parents, W.H. and Mae Breuninger, one son, Richard Betchan and his wife, Cheryl, two grandsons, Jacob and Brian Betchan, and one son-in-law, Walter Mills.
