Michael Bruce Lounsbury Mr. "L", 56, of Billings, Oklahoma was born on September 25, 1959 in Enid Oklahoma. He is the son of Rodney Bruce and Nelta June (Kunard) Lounsbury. He peacefully entered the arms of his Savior on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at his home in Billings. Mr. "L" was a 1978 graduate of Pond Creek Hunter High School. He went on to attend Oklahoma State University graduating with a bachelor's degree in education.
He began his teaching and coaching career at Carmen Dacoma High School. He was married to Melinda (Fitts) Lounsbury and they had three Children together Tyler, Whitney, and Caleb. In 1988 they moved to Billings where Mr. "L" began to create his legacy as Science teacher, baseball coach, basketball coach, football coach, mentor, father, coworker, and most of all friend at Billings High School. Mr. "L" started the Fellowship of Christian Athletes in Billings where he faithfully served as the Huddle leader for countless years. In 2007 he was named "Allstate Huddle Coach of the Year" by the Oklahoma FCA. He was quite proud of all the kids in his huddle who were named FCA allstate over the years. He has had yearbooks dedicated to him and has been named Billings Public School teacher of the year countless times, more recently in the 2008-2009 and in 2013-2014 school year. Mr. "L" loved to help with FFA showing projects and was a long time FFA booster club member and officer. Mr. "L" had a special kind of love for his current and past students.
On June 30, 2004 he married Jeani (Sayre) Lounsbury. Mike was an avid sports fan and he especially loved his OSU cowboys. He enjoyed spending his spare time hunting and fishing. He had a stewardship for all of Gods creatures especially his goats, chickens, cats, birds, dogs, and what ever wondered into his care.
Mike is survived by his wife Jeani of the home and one special Bulldog, affectionately named "Billings." His two sons Tyler and his wife Cheyanne of Pond Creek, Oklahoma, and Caleb Lounsbury of Pond Creek, Oklahoma. One daughter Whitney and her husband Kyle Betchan of Pond Creek, Oklahoma. Two stepdaughters Amy and her husband Tony Smith of Pawnee, Oklahoma, and Ivy Brown of Valrico, Florida. He is also survived by his 12 precious grandchildren that held a special place in his heart. He is also survived by his parents Nelta and Bruce Lounsbury of Hunter, Oklahoma and one brother Kevin Lounsbury of Hunter, Oklahoma.
