Maxine Kennedy, 80, of Perry, Oklahoma was the daughter of Mervin and Eva Renshaw Cross. She was born January 13, 1927 at Eureka, Kansas and died on Sunday, December 2, 2007 at Green Valley Nursing Home in Perry. Maxine was married to Donald Lee Kennedy Sr. in October, 1984 at the First United Methodist Church in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Don preceded her in death on December 13, 2006. She was a hair stylist in earlier years and was a homemaker and devoted wife to Don. Maxine was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Elks Lodge and the American Legion. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 6, 2007 in the Brown-Dugger Funeral Home Chapel in Perry. Pastor Adrian E. Pollard will officiate. Interment will be in Grace Hill Cemetery at Perry. Services are under the direction of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church in care of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home, 1010 N. 7th Street, Perry, Oklahoma 73077. Maxine is survived by two sons, J.D. Elwood and his wife, Billie, of Morrison, Oklahoma and Jerry Elwood and his wife, Judy, of Carney, Oklahoma; one daughter, Judy Lentz and her husband Tommy, of Pasco, Washington; one step-daughter, Kay Connery, of Midland, Texas; three sisters, Betty Trissel, of Madera, California, Joy Sears, of El Cajon, California; and Rita Postlewait, of Arkansas City, Kansas; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and her caregivers, Misty Nunley and Lucille Finke. In addition to her husband, Don, she was preceded in death by her parents, Mervin and Eva Cross; one sister, Aylene B. Garvie; and one step-son, Donald L.
