Maxine Harman, 79, of Perry, Oklahoma was the daughter of Merle C. and Lela G. Snyder Hayes. She was born October 17, 1929 at Wink, Texas and died Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at Perry Memorial Hospital. Maxine attended schools at Lucien and Hayward, Oklahoma and was a graduate of Hayward High School. She and Charlie Harman were married on December 29, 1948. Her husband preceded her in death on May 23, 1962. She moved to the Perry community from Lucien in 1948. She had been employed as a cashier at Wal-Mart for 10 years. Maxine was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Perry. She loved making Christmas cookies and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, helping others and working word puzzles. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 7, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church in Perry. Rev. Ed Cook will officiate. Interment will be in Lawn View Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Perry or the Lawn View Cemetery Fund in care of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home, 1010 N. 7th Street, Perry, Oklahoma 73077. Maxine is survived by two sons, Cecil Harman and his wife, Kathy, and Sam Harman and his wife, Sharon, all of Orlando, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Jason Harman, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Carrie Harman, of Orlando, Oklahoma and Brad Harman and his wife, Kim, of Orlando, Oklahoma; three great-grandchildren, Dylan Harman, of Guthrie, Oklahoma, Briley Harman, of Orlando, Oklahoma and Kala Henderson, of Perry, Oklahoma; one brother, Loren Hayes and his wife, Dorothy, of Orlando, Oklahoma; her twin sister, Murlene Joyce Reynolds, of Norman, Oklahoma; and special people in her life, a niece, Karen Carpenter; Ilene Branen, Erna James, Mary Kerfoot, Sue Robbins, Marilyn Branen, Lois Smith and all of her Wal-Mart friends. In addition to her husband, Charlie, Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, Merle and Lela Hayes, one sister, Patricia Ann Womack, and one son, James C. Harman.
