Max H. Thomas was born February 28, 1940 in Ponca City, Oklahoma to A.V. and Geneva (Wallace) Thomas. He passed away Friday, August 7, 2015 at his home in Perry at the age of 75 years old.
Max graduated from Billings High School and attended one year at Oklahoma State University. After school, Max joined the National Guard were he proudly served his country for eleven years. In 2002, Max retired from OG&E were he was an operator.
Max has made Perry his home for the last 50 years, moving here from Billings. He was a member of the Billings Christian Church. Max was a friend of Bill W. He enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, and reading science fiction, western, and war stories.
Max is survived by his wife, Lois Meier of the home; children, Dewayne Willis of Tulsa; Debbie Bode and her husband, Dennis of Perry; James Meier of Perry; and Terrie Coates and her husband, Robert of Perry; one sister, Margaret Jo Smith of Enid; six grandchildren, Whitney Magnon and her husband, Heath, Lauren Willis, Jeremy Bode and his wife, Beverly, Kristan Sayer and her husband, JT, Shawn Meier, and Jessie Leslie; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers, Dwight Nixon Thomas, Roger Earl Thomas, and Gary Barnett.
Funeral services will be 10am, Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at Brown-Dugger Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Martin Foster officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery northwest of Perry.
