Lifetime Mulhall resident, Max James Orr was born August 17, 1927 to William Henry and Elizabeth (Gray) Orr. He passed away July 3, 2015 at Green Valley Nursing Home at the age of 87 years.
On August 1, 1948 at the house of the bride's father, Max Orr was united in marriage with Dorothy Lee McPeek and to this union, three children were born. Max was a member of Mulhall Christian Church where he served as an elder. He was also a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge and the Mulhall Round Up Club. He also served on the school board and was a delegate to the farmers. Max was a dedicated farmer and rancher. He also worked in the oilfield as a roughneck.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Dorothy Orr of the Mulhall home; one son, Gary Orr and his wife, Marie of Stillwater; one daughter, Gaye Davis and her husband, Randy of Burleson, Texas; four grandchildren, Michael Orr and his wife, Jill of Edmond, Logan Davis of Burleson, Texas, Natalie Davis of Burleson, Texas, and Christen Orr of New York; and three great grandchildren, Asche, Demetri, and Nikola of Edmond. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, David James Orr; and one brother, William Earl Orr.
Visitation will be 1pm to 8pm with the family greeting friends from 1pm to 3pm, Sunday, July 5, 2015 at Brown-Dugger Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10am, Monday, July 6, 2015 at the Mulhall Christian Church with Pastor Derek Murrow officiating. Interment will follow in Victor Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Mulhall Christian Church in care of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home, 1010 N. 7th, Perry, OK 73077.
