Mary Ann Valdase, 42, of Perry, Oklahoma, was the daughter of Raymond and Martha Ann Parker Adkins. She was born on December 24, 1966 in Pawnee, Oklahoma and died Saturday, March 28, 2009 at her home. On June 27, 1993, Mary Ann married Abe Valdase, Jr. in Sumner, Oklahoma. Mary Ann enjoyed singing in the choir, taking care of the elderly and helping people. She was a faithful member of the New Prospect Baptist Church. Mary Ann was also a member of the Women's Mission, Southwest Regional Progressive Baptist Convention Women's Mission, Women's Missionary Unit, Perry All City Fellowship Choir, was a Youth Worker with the Progressive Oklahoma Baptist State Convention, and was the chairman of the Food Committee at New Prospect Baptist Church. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 4, 2009 at the First Baptist Church in Perry. Rev. Willie Anderson will officiate. Interment will be in Grace Hill Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home. Viewing will be 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 3, 2009 at Brown-Dugger Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Mary Ann Valdase Final Expense Fund to assist with medical and funeral expenses in care of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home, 1010 N. 7th Street, Perry, Oklahoma 73077. Mary Ann is survived by her husband, Abe Valdese; one son, Chris Adkins of Perry, Oklahoma; two daughters, Jamie Adkins of Stillwater, Oklahoma and Shaylynn Adkins of Perry, Oklahoma; one grandchild expected on July 26, 2009; one brother, Raymond Adkins, Jr. of Alberdeen, Washington; one sister, Norma Smith of St. Louis, Missouri; one uncle, Leo Cain of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and a host of nieces and nephews.
