Mary Strauhs

Mary L. Strauhs, 79, of Blackwell, Oklahoma was the daughter of Robert M. and Fannie Chandler Akin. She was born May 15, 1926 at Caddo, Oklahoma and died Monday, October 3, 2005 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. Mary and Carl E. Strauhs were married in Blackwell, Oklahoma on June 28, 1975. She was a custodian with First National Bank which later became Central National Bank. Mary enjoyed baking, fishing, gardening and picking pecans. Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 8, 2005 at the Blackwell Cemetery. Rev. Robert Johnson will officiate. Services are under the direction of Dugger Funeral Home, Blackwell, Oklahoma. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association in care of Dugger Funeral Home, 301 West Blackwell Avenue, Blackwell, OK 74631. In addition to her husband, Carl, Mary is survived by three sons, Charles Quinlan and his wife, Misty, of Blackwell, Oklahoma, Bruce Strauhs of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Bob Quinlan of Las Vegas, Nevada; three daughters, Virginia Bradley and her husband, Jerry, and Debbie Whicker, all of Blackwell, Oklahoma and Beverly Kensley of New Tripoli, Pennsylvania; fifteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and one sister, Jane Colburn of Blackwell, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by two sons, John Quinlan and Jerry Quinlan; parents, Robert and Fannie Akin; three sisters and three brothers.
