Mary Esta Mullins, 66, of Perry, Oklahoma, passed away February 25 at Perry Memorial Hospital. She was born to the late Ernest Ralph and Genevieve Ruby Isaacs Mullins, September 26, 1946, in Ponca City, Oklahoma. Mary was their second child, and only daughter. Mary grew up in the DuncanComanche area, where she graduated from the Duncan Christian School, and continued her higher education at the Bible Missionary Institute. She then received her Bachelors of Nursing Degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Nursing in Lawton, Oklahoma. Mary was a gentle and skilled nurse, always striving to provide quality care and compassion to those within her charge. She worked many years at the Jefferson County Hospital in Southwest Oklahoma before taking a traveling nurse position. Those assignments led her to Lake Charles, Louisiana, and then to Phoenix, Arizona, where she specialized in hospice nursing with Hospice of the Valley. In 2003 Mary left her nursing position in Phoenix to care for her dear parents. It was her hearts desire to make it possible for them to enjoy life to its fullest in the home they loved near Red Rock, Oklahoma. After Marys parents passed away, she moved to Bartlesville, Oklahoma, to be near family. She has resided in Perry, Oklahoma, since 2011. When Mary returned to the Red Rock area to care for her parents, she found herself surrounded by a clan of double cousins, who swept her into their arms and hearts. Mary was always the life of the party and brought laughter and usually a cake to whatever occasion was being celebrated. She loved to tease and to be teased Mary loved her family, OU football, music, cooking and baking, her furry family Cissy, Molly, Boo, home decorating especially trips to Hobby Lobby, and reading. She was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis at a young age, which required extended rest and indoor activities. During these months Mary developed a lifelong love for reading. Mary also loved her Savior and His church. As a lifelong learner, Mary was a serious student of the Bible, and a faithful and active member of the churches she attended. She enjoyed the fellowship and worship at the Church of the Nazarene in Perry, Oklahoma, where she currently attended. With Mary, it wasnt about the things she loved, but how deeply she loved them. She brought a passion to each interest that kept her attention, and had a special way of making each person feel uniquely and individually loved. She will be dearly, dearly missed. Mary is survived by two brothers, Rev. Ralph Douglas Mullins and his wife Carol, of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Rev. Ernest Glen Mullins and his wife Susan, of Raleigh, North Carolina. She was also very proud of her four nephews including Aaron Mullins of Washington, D. C. Josh and Crystal Mullins, of Arlington, Texas Steve and Kriss Mullins, of Indianapolis, Indiana and Brad Mullins of Costa Rica. Nieces and nephews include Lance and Elizabeth, of Arlington, Texas Mike, Lacey, and Max of Indianapolis Nolan, of California Britney, of Portland, Oregon and Douglas, of Costa Rica. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, a special aunt, Jennie Bernice Mullins, and a close friend and second cousin, Jennifer Dawn Schuneman. A memorial fund has been established to purchase Bibles through Gideon International, an organization Marys Father believed in and participated in.
