Mary Louise Johnson, age 93, of Perry, Oklahoma formerly of El Reno, Oklahoma passed away Saturday, August 6, 2016 at the Green Valley Nursing Home in Perry, Oklahoma.
Mary Louise Johnson was born February 4, 1923 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Joseph Emanuel and Ethel (Kasper) Dobry. Mary graduated from the Yukon High School in 1940 and she then attended St. Mary's College, Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana and also attended OSU where she was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority.
On August 28, 1946 Mary married Edward Cotner Johnson the couple made their home in Oklahoma City for 11 years where she was a member of the Christ The King Catholic Church, School PTA and also the Altar Society. She was a past board member & vice president of Jr. Hospitality. They then moved to Woodard, Oklahoma where she was a member of the St. Peter Paul Catholic Church, Altar Society. In 1961 they moved to El Reno where Mary was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church until her passing. She was a Eucharist Minister, member of the Sacred Heart Altar Society, past treasurer & chairman of the St. Ann's unit of Sacred Heart Altar Society. Mary was past board member of Canadian County Red Cross Chapter, cooked for Mobile meals when it first opened and for five years made birthday cakes and delivered to all mobile meal recipitants, taught Religion class to Catholic Jr. High students, helped make sandwiches to be handed out for anyone who came to the Parrish door, helped deliver native American students to Sunday school and church for five years, co instructor of RCIA and was the Sacred Heart Parish Co-Chairman for Funeral Dinners. Mary moved to St. Ann's Assisted Living in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma before moving to Perry, Oklahoma in 2014.
Survivors include four children Joseph E. Johnson of Perry, Oklahoma, Philip C. Johnson and wife Tina of Milton, Anita M. Musshafen and husband Phillip of Perry, Oklahoma and Mark D. Johnson and wife Kay of Edmond, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren Jason Musshafen, Edward Musshafen, Jacob Musshafen, Jared Musshafen, Jennifer Ghirson, Michelle Johnson, Joshua Johnson, and Alec Johnson; Six great grandchildren Jacy, Tessa and Kaylin Musshafen, Cole and Luke Johnson, Kyle Young; two sisters Pat Myers of Bartlesville, Oklahoma and Dolores Goudy of Denver, Colorado.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 27, 2016 at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church under the direction of the Brown-Dugger Funeral Home. Inurnment will take place in Yukon, Oklahoma.
The family has suggested memorials to Catholic Charities and contributions may be left at the Brown-Dugger Funeral Home.
