Marvin Bonewell

December 10, 1930 — April 22, 2005

Marvin L. Bonewell, 74, of Blackwell, was the son of Kenneth LeRoy and Elsie Edith Newman Bonewell. He was born December 10, 1930 in Belva, Oklahoma and died April 22, 2005 at his home in Blackwell, Oklahoma. Marvin moved to Blackwell with his parents in 1941 where he was raised and educated. He graduated with the class of 1950. In 1950 he married Jo Anne Jones in Blackwell, Oklahoma and in that same year began working for the Blackwell Zinc Smelter Plant. After the closing of the Smelter Plant, Marvin was employed at the Pioneer Technology Center in Ponca City, Oklahoma. Marvin was a member of the Methodist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and especially working in his garden. He was a man of kindness, always putting his family first and helping others. A Memorial Service is set for 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 28, 2005 at the Dugger Funeral Home Chapel in Blackwell, with Chad Short, Youth Minister in Cushing, Oklahoma officiating. Burial will be at the Blackwell Cemetery under the direction of Dugger Funeral Home of Blackwell. Memorials may be made to the Hospice of North Central Oklahoma in care of Dugger Funeral Home, 301 W. Blackwell, Blackwell, Oklahoma. He is survived by his wife Jo Anne of the home; two sons, Phillip Lee Bonewell and his wife Connie and Dennis Jo Bonewell and his wife Tracee all of Blackwell, Oklahoma; two daughters, Rebecca Ryan and Marva Jones and her husband Gary all of Blackwell; two sisters; Judith Blubaugh and her husband Robert of Ponca City, Oklahoma and Jean St.John of Blackwell, Oklahoma; fourteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Anita Marie Rollins and one sister, Phyllis Annett Bonewell.
