Martin Ray Diehm, 83, Red Rock, Oklahoma was the son of Martin Diehm and Erma Stockton Diehm. He was born December 11, 1929 in Red Rock, Oklahoma and died Friday, July 12, 2013 at Southern Oaks Care Center in Pawnee, Oklahoma. He served his country in the United States Army as a helicopter repairman and was stationed in Germany during the Korean War. Martin married his best friend and sweetheart, Shirley Ann Gemmell on January 9, 1954 in Red Rock, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death on April 26, 1980. He married his second wife, Clara Mae Elliott in 1980 and she preceded him in death in 2009. He enjoyed working on his ranch and invented the boot tow which was later modified by a doctor to assist knee surgery patients. Martin believed in his faith and loved leading people to Christ. Martin was a member of the 700 Club, Noble County Cattlemans Association and the Full Gospel Business Men. He was on the board of directors at Citizens State Bank, Morrison, Oklahoma. He was a member of the Word of Life Church in Ponca City, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at the BrownDugger Funeral Home Chapel in Perry, Oklahoma. Apostle Bob Innis will officiate. Interment will be at Grace Hill Cemetery, Perry, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of BrownDugger Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the charity of donors choice in care of BrownDugger Funeral Home, 1010 N. 7th Street, Perry, Oklahoma 73077. Martin is survived by his son, David Diehm of Red Rock, Oklahoma daughter, Kim Gilliland and her husband, Dennis of Morrison, Oklahoma two grandchildren, Gary Gilliland of Morrison, Oklahoma and Shelley Gottfried of Tryon, Oklahoma three sisters, Lois Elmore of Richardson, Texas, Bonnie Fraser of Renton, Washington, Anna Maye Ruuttila of Illinois one step son, Richard Thompson of Searcy, Arkansas five stepgrandchildren, Elysia Broughton of Fairfax, Oklahoma, Summer Gardner of Colorado, Buffye Parker of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Lisa Carl of Florida and Quinn Thompson two great grandchildren six step greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Erma Diehm a stillborn son, Russell Diehm and one stepdaughter, Marsha Gardner.
