Martha Moore

Martha May Moore, 90, of Perry, Oklahoma was the daughter of George and Lena Fowler Vice. She was born March 25, 1917 in Grove, Oklahoma and died Friday, January 11, 2008 at her home. On May 22, 1937, she and Vern J. Moore were married in Perry, Oklahoma. She and her husband established their first home in Kaw City, Oklahoma and later moved to Ponca City, Oklahoma. Mr. and Mrs. Moore returned to Perry in 1946 after Mr. Moorersquo;s discharge from military service. Martha worked as a sales clerk at JCPenney, Pallissard Jewelry, Monroe Lang Hardware, Lintz Department Store and Ragsdale Hardware before retiring in 1979. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Perry and was a long-time member of the Esther Rebekah Lodge for more than 60 years. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at the First Baptist Church. Rev. Bob Lee and Brother Aaron Summers will officiate. Interment will be in Grace Hill Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home of Perry. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church in care of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home, 1010 N. 7th Street, Perry, Oklahoma 73077. Martha is survived by five nieces, Millie Lummus of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Kim Booz of Gladestone, Missouri, Patsy Trounier and Pamela Sue Hicks, both of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Carolyn Ann Peirsol of Houston, Texas and five nephews, Lee Meadows of Liberal, Missouri, Edgar Vice Jr. of Drumright, Oklahoma, Jim Meadows of Orango, Missouri, Edward Ray Vice and Frankie Vice, both of Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two sisters, Geneva Lewis and Alice Meadows, three brothers, Lonnie Vice, Edgar Vice Sr. and Ernest Dee Vice and three nephews.
