Margie R. Butcher, 75, of Garber, Oklahoma was the daughter of Coleman and Opal Thornbrue Crofford. She was born December 14, 1931 at Garber, Oklahoma and died Thursday, November 8, 2007 at Integris Bass Hospital in Enid, Oklahoma. Margie was married to John Butcher on June 24, 1949 at the Garber United Methodist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who always enjoyed being a homemaker foremost. She also worked as a newspaper proofreader and photography lab technician for the Enid News and Eagle. Margie was a volunteer with the Garfield County Election Board. She volunteered countless hours working the elections in Garber. She was a member of the Garber United Methodist Church where she was active in the quilting group. She also taught Sunday School and Bible School. She was active in the Methodist Youth Fellowship and was a member of United Methodist Women and the Nu-Way Club. She always supported her children in their school activities. Margie was a great cook and enjoyed sewing and quilting. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 10, 2007 at the Garber United Methodist Church. Rev. Steve Littrell will officiate. Interment will be in the Garber Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Dugger Funeral Home of Garber. Memorials may be made to the Garber United Methodist Church in care of Dugger Funeral Home, P.O. Box 66, Garber, Oklahoma 73738. In addition to her husband, John, survivors are two sons, Kent Butcher and his wife, Sue, of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Kerry Butcher and his wife, Paula, of Cartwright, Oklahoma; one daughter, Linda King, of Garber, Oklahoma; one sister, Mary Crofford, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two brothers, Bill Crofford and his wife, Mary Ann, of Sterling, Kansas, and Dan Crofford and his wife, Leona, of Moore, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
