Margaret Goodhart

July 18, 1920 — November 5, 2008

Margaret Lucile Jackson Goodhart was called home by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at her home in Billings, Oklahoma after a brief and courageous battle with lung cancer. She was 88. Margaret Jackson, the daughter of Ralph and Laura Manor Jackson, was born on July 18, 1920 at Midian, Kansas. She was one of two girls in a family of seven children. She graduated from Billings High School in 1937 and from Tulsa Beauty College in 1938. Margaret married the love of her life, Walter Roy Goodhart, on April 7, 1939. She worked lovingly by his side on the farm and wherever else he needed her during their life together. Walter, her sugar, passed away and went to be with Jesus on March 5, 1983. Margaret and Walter lived in Wichita, KS where Margaret worked as a parts runner at an aircraft plant during World War II while Walter was in the service. She would roller skate the parts to whatever department needed them when called upon. Margaret and Walter moved to Billings in 1945. She owned and operated Margaret's Beauty Shop in Billings from 1946 until 2003. Her regulars would not let her retire from doing the pin curls and hairstyles they were used to. She finally sold the business after working 57 years as a hairdresser. Margaret enjoyed life. She especially enjoyed the activities that her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were involved in. She loved the holidays and anytime she could have the family together. Margaret's children and grandchildren have truly lost a special person in their lives but she will live on in their memories through the words of wisdom she gave each one of them. Margaret loved the Lord. She spent many years leading the music and playing the organ at her church. She was always ready to serve the Lord whenever and wherever she was called upon. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 7, 2008 at the First Baptist Church of Billings. Rev. Floyd Westfall will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Riverview Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Dugger Funeral Home of Billings, Oklahoma. Memorials may be made to Hospice of North Central Oklahoma or the First Baptist Church of Billings in care of Dugger Funeral Home, P.O. Box 41, Billings, Oklahoma 74630. She is survived by one sister, Marjorie Brinkerhoff of Chico, California; her daughter, Patricia Oller and husband George of Billings, Oklahoma; son, Gary Goodhart and wife Loretta of Midwest City, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Clint Oller and wife Candy of Billings, Oklahoma, Kelly Richardson and husband Terry of Pratt Kansas, Toni Evans and husband Bart of Wichita, Kansas, Stacy McClain, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Paige Oller of Houston, Texas.
