Margaret Davis

Margaret Elizabeth Davis, 84, of Perry, Oklahoma, was the daughter of Lawrence and Donnie Gay Harkins. She was born on August 14, 1923 in Wilson, Oklahoma and died Monday, August 4, 2008 at Perry Memorial Hospital. On April 25, 1942, Margaret married her high school sweetheart, Maurice Milton Davis, in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. He preceded her in death on February 13, 2001. Margaret was a graduate of Sabine Schools in Liberty City, Texas where she was valedictorian of her high school class. While in high school, she won first place at the State Fair of Texas in dress making. She also attended Kilgore Junior College in Kilgore, Texas. Margaret was a retired realtor and broker. A few of Margaret's special interest were reading, sewing, baking and all sports. She could name all the athletes on her favorite teams. Above all else she loved her grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them. Mom's legacy to her family is her faith, love, honesty, respect and great cooking Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 7, 2008 at the First Christian Church. Rev. Martin Foster will officiate. Interment will be in Grace Hill Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at Brown-Dugger Funeral Home. Margaret is survived by two daughters, Suzanne Voise and her husband, Larry, of Perry, Oklahoma and Karen Frazier of Ponca City, Oklahoma; one son, Pat Davis and his wife, Lisa, of Marlow, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, Kristi Voise of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Tara Smith and her husband, Nathan, and Natalie Goldman and her husband, Toby, all of Perry, Oklahoma, Nick Ley of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Dayne Davis of Lawton, Oklahoma, Luke Davis and his wife, Maranda, of Moore, Oklahoma, and Matthew Davis of Burleson, Texas; eight great-grandchildren, Rhemi, Gauge and Hunter Goldman, all of Perry, Oklahoma, Jadin and Dason Davis, both of Lawton, Oklahoma, Reese and Pierce Davis, both of Moore, Oklahoma and Daltin Davis of Marlow, Oklahoma; one sister, Jean Cox of Tyler, Texas and one brother-in-law, Jerry Davis of Markham, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice Davis, one grandson, Scott Voise, her parents, Lawrence and Donnie Harkins, one sister, Ruth Player and two brothers-in-law, Arthur Player and O.D.
