Lola Lorene "Aunt Bill" Shelton

Lola Lorene "Aunt Bill" Shelton was born March 17, 1931 in Hayward, Oklahoma, the daughter of George L. and Laura (Griggs) Shelton. She passed this life on January 2, 2015 at the Green Valley Nursing Home at the age of 83. She grew up in Perry, Oklahoma and attended Fairview School.

Lola was known by most of the Perry Community as "Aunt Bill". She was a very talented woman who could cook, sew and do many crafts. Most of her crafts were made from common household items. She also painted and did woodwork.

Lola is survived by her niece Alice, who raised her as her daughter from infancy. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; 9 brothers, Jasper, Richard (Dick) Clyde, Charlie, George Jr. "Wimpy", Ray, John, Otis (Duke) and Bobby Joe; 8 sisters, Mable, Louise, Mary, Rosie, Helen, Ida Fay, Ada Ruth and Ola Pearl.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 7, 2014 at the Grace Hill Cemetery in Perry. Arrangements are under the direction of the Brown-Dugger Funeral Home of Perry.
