L.J. Mcguar

L. J. Bud McGuar, 86, of Glencoe, Oklahoma, was the son of Lawrence R. and Lela M. Marsh McGuar. He was born on February 1, 1924 west of Enid, Oklahoma at the farm house and died Friday, April 2, 2010 at the Perry Memorial Hospital. On November 1, 1943, Bud married Wanita Humphrey in Fairview, Oklahoma. Bud served his country as a member of the United States Navy from 1943 until 1946. After his service in the military, Bud worked for Long Bell Lumber Company in Enid, Oklahoma. In December 1949, Bud moved to Glencoe and started a farming and dairy business. He enjoyed his cattle and quail and pheasant hunting. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Glencoe, the Masonic Lodge and was a member of the Stillwater Wagon Wheel Square Dance Club for fortythree years. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Glencoe, Oklahoma. Rev. James Beck will officiate. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of BrownDugger Funeral Home in Perry, Oklahoma. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association in care of BrownDugger Funeral Home, 1010 N. 7th Street, Perry, Oklahoma 73077. Bud is survived by his wife, Wanita McGuar of the home cousin, Randy and Dian McGuar of Perry, Oklahoma their children, Rani McGuar and Erik Woodard of Edmond, Oklahoma and Kali and Kyle Hughey of Perry, Oklahoma and close family friends, Mike and Beth Coomer of Glencoe, Oklahoma.
