Lenette Gates

d. February 16, 2025

Lenette Margaret Gates, a beloved daughter, sister, mother, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Born on December 25, 1956, in El Reno, Oklahoma, Lenette greeted the world with a sweet spirit that touched the lives of everyone she encountered. Graduating from Enid High School in 1974, she carried the values of kindness and love throughout her life, qualities that defined her role as a homemaker, mother, wife, and business owner alongside her husband.

Her kind and loving personality shone brightly in every aspect of her life. Lenette had a gift for making others feel special, whether through her cherished hobby of crocheting or the simple joy she took in playing tablet games. Those who had the pleasure of knowing her could spend hours listening to her animated conversations, especially with her best friend Brenda Dixon of Chandler, with whom she talked daily without fail.

Lenette was a devoted mother to her two sons, Aaron Gates of Perry and Nathanael Gates, who with his wife Ruth reside in Georgia. Her family was her pride and joy, and she dedicated herself fully to nurturing and supporting them throughout their lives. She held a close bond with her siblings as well; her brothers Lanny Bainter and Lynn Bainter, married to Linda and Karen respectively, and her sister Luanne Cox were always a source of love and laughter. Lenette was also a cherished aunt to numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom will forever hold dear the memories and lessons she shared with them.

The void left by the passing of her husband, Russell Gates, and her brother Larry Bainter is immense, yet those who knew her understand that Lenette's legacy of love continues through her family and friends. Her spirit lives on in the stories they tell and the moments they cherish.

A Celebration of Life honoring Lenette will take place on February 21, 2025, from 5 PM to 7 PM at the Brown-Dugger Funeral Home in Perry, Oklahoma, providing an opportunity for family and friends to come together, share memories, and celebrate the beautiful life of a remarkable woman.

As we remember Lenette Margaret Gates, let us hold onto the joy, kindness, and love she so generously shared. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in our hearts.
