Lenard James

Lenard F. James, 75, of Perry, Oklahoma was the son of Clarence Franklin James and Kathrine Eva Frank James. He was born February 13, 1931 at Morrison, Oklahoma and died Thursday, April 27, 2006 at Stillwater Medical Center in Stillwater, Oklahoma. He and the former Erna M. Inselman Schieffer were married September 22, 2005 on a dock at Keystone Lake. Lenard was a state resident engineer for the State of Oklahoma Highway Department. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing, gardening, bird hunting, dogs and dog training. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 1, 2006 at Calvary Baptist Church in Perry. Rev. Roger Dunn will officiate. Interment will be in Grace Hill Cemetery at Perry. Services are under the direction of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home of Perry. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home, 1010 N. 7th Street, Perry, OK 73077. In addition to his wife, Erna M. James, survivors are two sons, Galen James and his wife, Nancy, of McKinney, Texas and Dennis James, of Morrison, Oklahoma; one daughter, Donna Jones and her husband, Kevin, of Morrison, Oklahoma; one step-son, Bob Henry and his wife, Bev, of Perry, Oklahoma; one step-daughter, Carolyn Nelson and her husband, Mark, of Orange Park, Florida; one foster daughter, Tammy Freeman, of Illinois; six grandchildren, Joshua James and his wife, Jennifer, of San Antonio, Texas, Jeremy James and his wife, Melissa, of Saginaw, Texas, Levi Jones, of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Makila Jones, of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Dylan James, of Morrison, Oklahoma and Cale James, of Morrison, Oklahoma; one great-grandchild, Hailey Elizabeth James, of San Antonio, Texas; four step-grandchildren, David Henry and his wife, Leslie, of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Chelle Karns and her husband, Louis, of Orlando, Oklahoma, April Sanders and her husband, Steve, of Jacksonville, Florida and Lindsay Nelson, of Starkville, Mississippi; four step-great-grandchildren, Cory Elmore, of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Emily Henry, of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Mary Ellen Henry, of Fayetteville, Arkansas and Hailey Sanders, of Jacksonville, Florida; one brother, Collin James and his wife, Francie, of Ponca City, Oklahoma; and his sidekick, Bruiser.
