Larry Edward Bodle, age 75 of Garber, Oklahoma died Sunday, August 21, 2016 at the St. Mary's Hospital in Enid, Oklahoma.
Memorial Service Visitation will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, August 26. 2016 at the Dugger Funeral Home in Garber, Oklahoma with the family receiving friends from 6pm to 8pm. Friends may leave online condolences at www.brown-duggerfuneralhome.com.
The family has suggested memorials to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Foundation and contributions may be left with the Brown-Dugger Funeral Homes.
Larry was born July 29, 1941 in Douglas, Nebraska to Joe G. and Velma Vere (Carter) Bodle. Larry grew up in the Douglas, Nebraska area before moving to Nebraska City, Nebraska and graduating from the Nebraska City High School in 1959. Larry worked for the Larson's Grocery Store and later became assistant manager.
On September 16, 1962 Larry married Glynna Bailey in Nebraska City, Nebraska where the couple made their home. Larry served in the Army National Guard for 12 years. He worked at American Meter Company in Nebraska City as a personnel supervisor. The couple moved to Garber, Oklahoma to run the Garber Dairy Boy for several years. When the couple closed the Dairy Boy Larry went to work at Ditch Witch in Perry, Oklahoma retiring in 2002. Larry also was a reserve deputy for the Garfield County Sheriff's Department for over 10 years. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Nebraska City, Masonic Lodge, Eagles and Moose Club. Larry loved to fly Cessna planes, woodworking and bowling.
Survivors include his wife Glynna Bodle of Garber, Oklahoma; two daughters Brenda Steichen and husband Billy of Ponca City and Teresa White and Brent Schiesser of Enid, Oklahoma; one sister Leah and husband Lyle Babcock of Topeka, Kansas; seven grandchildren Brandon and wife Ginger Androes, Katherine Steichen, Ben Steichen, Zachary Androes, Crystal and wife Caitlin Hagerman-Smith, Joshua and wife Emily Androes, and Tate Wichert; five great grandchildren Ethan Androes, Madison Androes, Joneven Androes, Adrin Ozment and Connor Androes.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one son Larry Joe.
