Keith Seat

Gene Seat was born in 1931 in Pawnee County to Fannie Carl Seat. He was raised by his beloved Aunt Uncle, Annie Bucky Fowler. He grew up surrounded with the love of his aunts, uncles and cousins of the Adams Sigenthaler families. He loved growing up on the farm with his favorite horse Scout and his dog Billie Mary. After graduating from Morrison High School and spending one year at OSU, he worked in Morrison as a meat cutter and opened his own cafe. In 1951 he moved to the Perry Daily Journal working in the advertising department and writing for the sports page. A few years later he and a partner started a successful cookware sales company. He remained in the cookware business until he was 80 years old. He was a major influence and inspiration to a generation of young men who worked for him and went on to find success in a number of different fields. In 1948 he married Lauvan Harting and they had four children, Lester, Debbie, Earl LaVeryl. In 1966 he married Delcie Vasek and became father to her three children, Rick, John Susan. Gene was a loving family man and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at The First Baptist Church of Perry at 2:00pm Monday, July 9th. Services are under the direction of BrownDugger Funeral Home. Memorial Donations may be made to the Edmond YMCA Community Support Campaign in care of BrownDugger Funeral Home, 1010 N. 7th Street, Perry, Oklahoma 73077. He is survived by his wife Delcie Seat, and his eight children and their spouses: Lester Jamie Seat, Debbie Craig Whitacre, Earl Seat, Rick Jennifer Vasek, John Jean Vasek, LaVeryl Chris Lower, Susan Jim Hillis and Stan Williamson. He is survived by 12 grandchildren: Zach Seat, Kamden Seat, Dyan Ownbey, Julian Vasek, Maison Vasek, Hagen Vasek, Brent Whitacre, Nathan Hillis, Madilynn Hillis, Sam Lower, Troy Schultz and Shelly Lumbers. He was also blessed with seven great grandchildren, Sheila Josh Seat, Trevor, Trysta and Shelbi Schultz, Ayden and Ashtyn Lumbers.
