Katherine Ward

Katherine L. Ward, 89, of Billings, Oklahoma, was the daughter of Roy Samuel and Edith Clark Mitchell. She was born on September 19, 1918 in Lamont, Oklahoma and died Saturday, March 8, 2008 at the Ponca City Medical Center in Ponca City, Oklahoma. Katherine graduated from Lamont High School. On September 26, 1936, she married Earl G. Ward in Lamont, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death in May 1974. She was a clerk at the Billings Post Office for 21 frac12; years before retiring in 1989. Katherine had been a member of the Billings Christian Church since 1938. She enjoyed writing letters and sending cards to family and friends. Katherine also enjoyed working in her flower gardens, spending time with her kids and grandkids and was an avid fisherman. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 14, 2008 at the Christian Church in Billings, Oklahoma. Kent Reubell will officiate. Interment will be in the Lamont Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Dugger Funeral Home in Billings, Oklahoma. The family will be receiving friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 14, 2008 at the Christian Church in Billings. Ward and his wife, Reacie, of Grand Junction, Colorado; one daughter, Joyce Myers and her husband, Pete, of Ponca City, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Troy Ward, April Cackler and her husband, Robert, and Harmony Ward, all of Grand Junction, Colorado and Damon Myers of Ponca City, Oklahoma; three great-grandchildren, Garin Cackler, Rebecca Cackler and Portia Cackler, all of Grand Junction, Colorado and several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, one infant daughter, Janice Earlene Ward in February 1945, her parents and three brothers.
