Josephine Houska

Josephine Elizabeth Houska, 94, of Billings, Oklahoma, was the daughter of Cyril and Anastasia Fiala Hladik. She was born on March 19, 1918 in Bison, Oklahoma and died Friday, July 13, 2012 at Green Valley Nursing Home in Perry, Oklahoma. She married her best friend, Jerry Houska Sr. on November 10, 1936 at St. Josephs Catholic Church, Bison, Oklahoma. Jerry preceded her in death on October 11, 1997. Josephine enjoyed cooking, sewing, playing cards, polka dancing and being a farmers wife, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. She made dolls at the Shirley Bellmons doll factory in Billings, Oklahoma. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels and at the Billings Senior Citizens Center. Josephine was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Billings, Oklahoma. Rosary will be 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Billings, Oklahoma. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Perry, Oklahoma. Interment will be at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Cemetery in Perry, Oklahoma. Father Dan Letourneau will officiate. Services are under the direction of Dugger Funeral Home in Billings, Oklahoma. Memorials may be made to Billings Sacred Heart Catholic Church in care of Dugger Funeral Home, PO Box 41, Billings, Oklahoma 74630. Josephine is survived by her two sons, Jerry Houska and his wife, Jean Sue of Perry, Oklahoma, Tom Houska and his wife, Pat of Billings, Oklahoma four daughters, Helen Hartz and her husband, Robert of Billings, Oklahoma, Lucy Shedeck and her husband, Milo of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Adella Thompson of Austin, Texas, Phyllis McIlvain and her husband, Jim of Perry, Oklahoma nineteen grandchildren thirty three great grandchildren and a few great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Houska Sr. her parents, Cyril and Anna Hladik and six brothers.
