Joseph Back

Joseph "Joe" Rock Back was born on January 25, 1942 in Perry, Oklahoma to Charles E. and Dora (Stratton) Back. He passed away on July 22, 2015 in Enid, Oklahoma at the age of 73 years.

Joe attended school in Billings, Oklahoma. He was a truck driver early on in his life, and this is when he met and married Retta Holmes in Enid, Oklahoma. To this union, two daughters were born, Terri and Carla. Joe was the Billings Police Chief for 27 ½ years, during this time he met the love of his life Loretta Cramer Miller. He and Loretta were united in marriage on March 22, 1977 in Oklahoma City and to this union two sons were born, James and Ray.

Joe was a local Billings farmer and worked for Irvin Security Agency in Enid as a Armed Security Guard. He was also a life member of the OACP, Moose Lodge in Enid, NRA, IOF, and the Capital Hill Cycle Club. He was a member of the Garber Assembly of God Church, where he was a board member. Joe was passionate about riding his motorcycle, claiming that Harley's are the one and only bike. He also loved fishing and hunting.

Joe is survived by his wife of 38 years, Laretta of the home; three children, Terri Fincher of Garber, Oklahoma , James Back of the home, and Ray Back and his wife, Lisa of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Trinity Miller and her husband, Kyle of Morrison, Colorado, Brandy Fagan and her husband, Joshua of Garber, Oklahoma, Joey Fincher and his wife, Shelby of Perry, Oklahoma, and Joshua Back of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; four great-grandchildren Nevaeh and Carlie Fincher of Perry, Oklahoma and Adelyn and Ayden Fagan of Garber, Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his parents; his first wife, Retta; one daughter, Carla; one son-in-law, Ray Fincher; and one brother, Kenneth Back.

Visitation will be Saturday, July 25th from 8am to 8pm and Sunday, July 26th from 1pm to 8pm at Dugger Funeral Home in Billings. The family will be greeting friend and family at the funeral home Sunday from 6pm to 8pm.

Funeral services will be 10am, Monday, July 27, 2015 at the Assembly of God in Garber with Pastor Barry Prock officiating. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery in Billings, Oklahoma.
