John Luthye

John L. Luthye, 61, of Perry, Oklahoma was the son of Earl and Mildred Luthye. He was born October 27, 1947 at Enid, Oklahoma and passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at Deaconess Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He graduated from Perry High School in 1965 and attended Oklahoma State University for three years. On September 21, 1968, he and Linda Rutherford were married in Perry, Oklahoma. John worked at Stillwater Milling Company from 1967 to 1968. He then worked at Swan Rubber Company until 1974. John began working at the Charles Machine Works in 1974 and was employed there until he retired in 2001. In 2006, he started working at Payne's Lawn Power. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 18, 2009 at the First Baptist Church in Perry. Pastor Steve V. Smith will officiate, assisted by Rev. Lonnie Rutherford. Interment will be in Grace Hill Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 17, 2009 at Brown-Dugger Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the First Church of the Nazarene or the charity of the donor's choice in care of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home, 1010 N. 7th Street, Perry, Oklahoma 73077. In addition to his wife, Linda, John is survived by his children, Evan Luthye and Angela of Enid, Oklahoma, Ryan Luthye and Victoria of Choctaw, Oklahoma and Pam Luthye Barber, of Perry, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Kayla and Scott Barber Jr. Scotty of Perry, Oklahoma and Jaxon and Enella Luthye of Choctaw, Oklahoma; two brothers, David Luthye and his wife, Lois, and Jim Luthye and his wife, Carolyn, all of Perry, Oklahoma; one sister, Elizabeth Payne of Torrance, California; his mother-in-law, Ruby Rutherford of Perry, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Mildred Luthye; father-in-law, Rufus Rutherford, one sister, Carolin Luthye, and a sister-in-law, Jean Rutherford.
